New Gear

I have a new full frame camera and lens. It's a Nikon D700 (£1,800) and a 24mm-70mm F2.8 Zoom Lens (£1,200). Expensive, but the results I'm getting with this new gear is proving well worth while. I still shoot with my Nikon D90 as a back-up camera and it is still useful at weddings as I can have a different size lens on each camera or different settings. I have taken photos with it for a Photographer of the Year competition. I will let you know how I get on.

Lou and Welshy's Wedding - 27th August 2011

I set-up a slide show at the reception, to the music of "I Gotta Feelin'" by the Black-eyed Peas. I've never seen a room spontaneously erupt in so much excitement and cheering in my life. RESULT OR WHAT? Totally amazing. My training and investment has paid off. I'm so happy.

Pet Photography Experience

Book now for a
FUN "LIFESTYLE" PET PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE

Satisfaction guaranteed OR YOUR MONEY BACK!

Barry Parsons - Pet Photographer

My family would tell you how much I have always adored interacting with animals and my friends would tell you how passionate I am about photography. So it’s hardly surprising that I’m never happier than when I’m indulging my passion in pet photography or photographing wildlife.

I seem to have a natural affinity with pets and a respectful understanding with wildlife, so when I became a professional photographer, pet photography was a natural avenue to channel my photographic skills.
Being a pet photographer, I know how important it is to get to know the animals I’m photographing before getting down to the business of shooting the session. Pet photography is a skill that requires time and patience, so I never book more than one pet photography session in a day. I try to make it a fun photographic experience for everyone involved.

I charge a booking fee of £50 for a session, which would generally cover some natural light indoor shots as well as some outdoor work and will generally give up to 4 hours of photography. The session may last longer than this if we go out to a location of your choice or to the park or the beach.

Why not get the whole family involved and make it a photographic experience to remember.
Images will be sold as framed images, photobooks or canvasses.

Pet Lifestyle Photography

I'm now a member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and have just spent 3 days at SWPP convention in London. Mind blowing. What a fantastic venue. (And what fantastic prices for a glass of wine!!!)

Anyhow, having spent 3 days in various Masterclasses and visiting the trade stands, I have gained so much in knowledge of various aspects of the photographic industry and spent a few hundred more pounds too.

After one particularly inspiring Masterclass by Lesley Wood, I've decided to make pet portraiture a major part of my business focus.  I've always loved taking pictures of animals; so what better business plan could there be? (Rhetorical question).

So, I will be offering a full days fun pet photography experience and produce large framed images, photobooks and canvasses for my clients. But it's not just about getting a decent photograph of your pet, it's about having a fantastic, fun experience, with the memories and souvenirs to remember what a great day you've had. Of course, sadly, every pet owner knows that their pet won't be around forever, but if you've got some fantastic lifestyle prints, your memories will stay with you for life.

I will be posting details here, just as soon as I've put together the package. If you already like the sound of this, you can drop me an email at mrbarryparsons@hotmail.co.uk to register your interest.

My Wedding Photography

 My New Wedding Photography Portfolio.
http://www.eaphotoservices.co.uk/

On the 8th November I put myself on a 4 day Wedding Photography course with 'The Trained Eye'. What an amazing course it was. Not only do I now have a stylish portfolio, but it has helped me to develop a whole new style of shooting. I can't wait to try it out at my next wedding assignment.

As a result of the training, I have now added a new lens to my arsenal to help me capture the soft light images that look so perfect in a wedding album. Take a look at the short video of my wedding portfolio below and I'm sure you will see what I mean.

With the changing styles of wedding photography, it is important to keep up to date with the latest trends from around the world. The reportage style, which seems to have come over from America, gives the photographer a whole new raft of opportunities to capture exciting and sentimental images for the wedding photobook. Add to that a contemporary style of shooting which, is now gaining popularity, and your memories from the day will be captured forever in a whole new way.

The First day of my new Blog

14th November 2010
So here I am, struggling to set-up my first bog, for my photographic business. Or should that be BLOG? I'm certainly making a right blog-up of it at the moment. This is supposed to be a simple process but I've been struggling all day with new sideshows and photo sizes to fit. I'm sure it will all become clearer in the fullness of time.
